Colony – Park City – Utah
The residence is a striking 14,500-square-foot architectural volume set in the mountains of Utah. It rises from the terrain as a monolithic layering of stone, appearing to emerge organically from the ground and ascend along the slope above Park City.
The architectural layout is designed to maximize panoramic views in all directions: to the south, it opens toward the valley, while to the north, it frames the surrounding mountain peaks. The central core—housing the main entrance and a dramatic double-height great room—is surrounded by four secondary volumes, each tilted in a different direction to frame specific focal points in the landscape.
The spatial organization of the home is articulated by a series of tall stone and exposed concrete walls, which define the architectural rhythm and serve as both structural and expressive elements of the design.
The two-story structure is terraced into the natural topography: the entry façade on the north presents as a single story, while the southern elevation extends to two stories, taking full advantage of the site’s incline. This south-facing façade features a generous stone-clad porch with outdoor amenities, including a swimming pool, fire pit, and expansive glass walls that allow abundant natural light to flood the double-height interior spaces.
The main level hosts the primary living areas, kitchens, master suites, and a study, while the lower level is dedicated to family bedrooms, a game room, additional guest accommodations, and a private spa.
