House in Takoradi

The design of this house features two composed and compact overlapping volumes that define a covered patio on the ground floor. On the upper level, a continuous balcony runs along the entire length of the building’s front façade, providing shade from the intense equatorial sunlight together with teak wood louvered screens. These shading elements conceal large sliding windows on both opposing façades, ensuring optimal natural ventilation. Local materials are combined with aluminum and exposed concrete to create a contemporary atmosphere.
