This project envisions a contemporary residence of approximately 1,500 square meters, located in a gently sloping urban area of Sandy, at the base of the Wasatch Mountains in the Salt Lake Valley.
The home is composed of a series of distinct volumes, internally connected by a unified circulation system. The façades are articulated through a rhythmic sequence of solid masses and monumental stone-clad walls. These structural walls not only define the interior layout but also organize the surrounding garden spaces, which unfold as a series of paved terraces interspersed with green areas, each designed for different uses.
The strong horizontal layout of the plan is counterbalanced by vertical partitions that extend beyond the primary building mass, creating a dynamic interplay between horizontality and verticality and enhancing the architectural presence of the structure.
A refined selection of natural materials—primarily stone and wood—combined with a carefully curated interior color palette, softens the monumental character of the architecture, lending it both warmth and sophistication.
Expansive transparent glazing reveals generous interior spaces, some of which are double-height, allowing natural light to flow in and framing views of the surrounding landscape.
